Our Exec Team
In the technology sector a strong leadership team is essential to ensure clarity of vision and focus to navigate what is a fast moving industry.
But we are slightly different; we do not surround our boardroom table with years of experience in the telecoms sector – that would just make us like everyone else.
We think the telecoms sector is about to undergo rapid change – from a sector obsessed with hardware and upfront costs to one where subscription pricing and the cloud are making service an imperative. You will find our exec team unique in the fact that they have all worked in sectors where the needs of the customer have transformed the customer/supplier dynamic. This means we don’t have baggage; we think differently and we put the customer first.
As Chief Executive, it’s Matt’s role to “point everyone in the right direction and then remove the obstacles to them getting there.”
Matt brings a great mix of entrepreneurial experience combined with rapid scaling. Prior to babble Matt led the talent management business of StepStone from start-up and grew a team of over 600 people who generated global revenues of more than $100m. He was part of the leadership that led the sale of StepStone to Axel Springer in 2009 and subsequently, as CEO, led the MBO of the B2B software business (now called Lumesse) in an MBO backed by Hg Capital.
Matt also serves on the board of PETROTECHNICS and undertakes insane bike rides across the UK and Europe.
As CTO Andy is tasked with ensuring we have a coherent product strategy and is responsible for our wider operational and delivery teams. We think he’s an unusual combination of ‘honest-to-goodness geek’ and ‘business-savvy entrepreneur,’ a combination that has produced a significant track record of business success.
When not at work Andy is involved in a number of social enterprises and organisations that aim to use technology to benefit those who don’t always receive the benefits of innovation including NoPC, Regenerate and Ashoka.
As Chief Financial Officer Laird heads up the Finance function, encompassing operational finance and reporting, as well as M&A activity, financing and ensuring the successful completion of transactions. A chartered accountant with a background of senior roles within high growth, private equity-backed technology businesses, his focus is bringing financial discipline to an organisation, whilst also giving the business the information and tools it needs to drive revenue and profit growth.
Outside of work Laird enjoys spending quality time with family and practicing as a qualified Olympic level boxing coach, having coached at 2 World Championships, 2 Commonwealth Games and a Pan American Games as well as volunteering for many years as a club coach.
Managing Director Sales and Marketing
Mike is responsible for the front end of the business looking after the sales and marketing engine driving the business forward by delivering tangible transformative outcomes to customers. Mike has a background of working for a number of MSP’s and SI’s in the industry continually honing his skillset to develop sales people whilst delivering growth. After successfully growing Arden Group sales by 39% year-on-year, babble saw the acquisition as an accelerator for growth, scale and ultimately was a great combination of complimentary cultures; inviting Mike to take an executive position in the organisation.
Outside of work, Mike is an avid sports fan specifically passionate about rugby, football and is a bit of a petrolhead. Whilst also being a proud family man and father of two energetic boys who have taken on the sporting family traditions and have even managed to bring their father into some rugby coaching.

Mark heads up babble contact, our specialist CCaaS business and is responsible for the strategy and day to day running of the operation. Mark has been with babble for over 14 years and has been part of the incredible growth journey that has seen us enter the Sunday Times Fastrack 100 as the UK’s fastest growing Cloud provider, win numerous awards and brought accounts on board such as EDF Energy, Which?, Secret Escapes, GLH Hotels, Abel & Cole, Parseq, Royal Bank of Scotland and many more.
When not at work, Mark is either on the training field with his sons U10 football team which he coaches, or on the gymnastics floor with his daughter.
Head of Chief Executive Office
Geraldine leads the Corporate Projects Office, which is broadly speaking, a role that makes her responsible for leading transformational projects and the execution of key strategic initiatives. Her role is to bring everyone in the company together to get the ‘big things’ done. Previously Geraldine spent 12 years with EY in operational and programme management roles and has a well-earned reputation for resilience and delivering. Highly versatile she has significant experience leading project teams within large corporate, SME and entrepreneurial environments.
When not at work you can find Geraldine hiking some wild and scenic terrain or posing on her yoga mat.
